Fun With Toy Animals

Lots of animals!

- Hammy and Snickers are 19 months old

We have had these plastic animals since my kids were around 6 months old.  I love them, my kids love them.  There are multiple sets pictured here, plus a random snake!  You can find them on Amazon HERE We have played with them together almost every day since we have had them.  We own the following sets: Farm, Jungle, Zoo, Forest, Domestic Pets, Endangered and Ocean.  I am still planning on getting the insects set as well as the dinosaur set to finish off our collection at some point.  

There are a few other animals from these sets that are not pictured here, these are just the ones my twins can identify.  We play "the animal game," I ask them to get me the lion, the cow, the penguin, the albatross etc and they excitedly look around and find it for me, then we put them in a box.  

I took some time a few months ago and filled in the tiny holes that are on each animal with hot glue.  I think the holes are from the molding process, the animals are all hollow.  Filling in the holes with hot glue will allow them to be played with in the sandbox, a sensory bin filled with dirt or shaving cream etc and in a bath, water table or pool.  They won't get all moldy and nasty inside.  

The albatross, I didn't even know what an albatross was until we had these animals.
